There are situations in life when I feel overwhelmed, hopeless, helpless, and simply, I do not know what to do next. I am aware that the Christian approach should be totally opposite! As a Catholic, I am commanded to trust my God and not lose hope. In His WORDS to St. Faustina Jesus constantly assures me to trust in Him. A few years ago, when I was feeling blue, I found a prayer called a TELEGRAM TO SAINT JOSEPH.
Before the internet was invented, a TELEGRAM was a form of a message, urgent and short, sent by an electrical operator or telegrapher.
A TELEGRAM TO SAINT JOSEPH is not the kind of prayer recited daily.
No private person was getting a telegram every day!
This prayer is dedicated to special and urgent matters to beg for immediate assistance. It can be said three times during the day, in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. If the matter is very, very urgent, it can be said in three consecutive hours. That is why it is also called TRIDUUM OF ST. JOSEPH.
When the world turns upside down and the messages of Fatima are being fulfilled before our eyes, I would like to invite you to unite our hearts in prayer for one intention, asking St. Joseph, patron saint of Canada, Terror of demons, Protector of Holy Church, Head of the Holy Family … to intercede for us for peace and freedom.
I like to share this prayer to St. Joseph because I think it is a very urgent time we are experiencing now, but it can be any other prayer or sacrifice. What is the most important to me, is the unity of one, the same intention.
A TELEGRAM TO SAINT JOSEPH
Saint Joseph, I offer You the love of Jesus and Mary that they have for You.
I also offer you the praises, gratitude and sacrifices that the faithful have made to You through the ages up to this moment.
I entrust myself and all those dear to my heart to Your Holy protection forever.
I am begging You for the love of God and the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Bride, to obtain for us the grace of final salvation and all the graces we need, especially this great grace … (our intention).
Hurry to save me, Holy Patriarch, and console me in this distress.
O Saint Joseph, Friend of the Heart of Jesus, hear me.

I mostly pray the Telegram three times at once, or just with other prayers because I love the words of it. They are very meaningful. The short, humble messages are embracing what is the most important. I feel protected by the Watchful Defender of Christ.
I must add, it is totally about my feelings, I do not pray anymore because there is a promise attached to prayer. It was encouraging at the beginning of my prayer life, but not anymore. I do not like the forwarded messages like: “do not stop the chain because...” or “pray/pass it on because…”
Prayer is a way to connect with God, spending time with Him, so I like to do that in freedom of choice. He gave me that freedom out of Love, just out of love I like to be with Him!
Whatever He decides I know He always is in the best control of everything. I just need to trust in Him.
I like to share this prayer with you, but it can be any other you like. What is the most important to me, is the unity of one intention. We all long for freedom and peace in the world.
