The Gentle Whisper of the Morning
Every morning, before the world rushes in with its noise and distractions, I sit down with my Bible and a warm cup of coffee or herbal tea finding peace in God's Word. There is something about the quiet moments before the day begins—the way the light gently filters through the window, the way the air still holds the silence of the night. In those moments, I feel God’s presence most deeply.
"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46,10
I used to wake up feeling anxious, my mind already running through the long list of things I needed to do. My heart would race before I even set foot on the floor. But then I discovered something: when I started my day with Scripture, everything changed.
A Lamp for My Feet
God’s Word is not just a collection of ancient writings; it is a living voice, speaking directly to my heart. One morning, as I was feeling particularly overwhelmed, I read:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105
It struck me. I don’t need to see the entire road ahead. I don’t need to have everything figured out. I just need to take the next step in faith, trusting that His Word will illuminate the way.
When I sit with Scripture, I feel like a child resting in the arms of a loving Father. His voice soothes my worries, His wisdom replaces my doubts, and His love calms the storms inside me.
The Power of One Verse
One verse. That’s all it takes sometimes.
There have been days when I felt lost, and a single verse was enough to bring me back. A reminder that I am loved. That I am seen. That I am never alone.
Just as a lamp doesn’t light up the entire journey at once, God’s Word gives us enough light for today. Enough grace for this moment.
What If We Listened More?
We are surrounded by voices—social media, news, opinions, expectations. But what if we listened more to the One voice that truly matters?
What if, instead of reaching for our phones first thing in the morning, we reached for our Bibles? What if, before making big decisions, we asked, “Lord, what do You say about this?”
His Word is waiting for us, like a letter from a dear friend.
And when we finally open it, we realize that peace was there all along.
"The more you trust, the more peace you have. My words bring light into the darkness of your worries." Alicja Lenczewska
A Prayer for Peace
Lord,
When my heart is restless, whisper Your truth to me.
When my thoughts are racing, slow me down with Your peace.
When I feel lost, remind me that Your Word is my light.
May I seek You first in all things.
Amen.
