Lectio Divina, or reading God’s Word.
There are four stages in this method:
1.Lectio - reading the word of God in silence and concentration
2.Meditatio - meditation, opening the mind and heart to the action of God's Spirit
3.Oratio - prayer makes us able to accept these words, even difficult and incomprehensible ones
4.Contemplatio, or contemplation, listening to what God says to us.
The Word of God will permeate us and become more and more understandable.
Holy Spirit, the soul of my soul, I adore You, enlighten me, strengthen me, console me and teach me what to do. I willingly submit to whatever you ask of me, I wish to accept whatever you let on me. Just let me know Your holy will. Amen.
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit,
that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, maybe holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy. Amen.
